Apparently, Blackout is my most high-maintenace muse, and demands more attention than he is currently getting. So I decided to fill out a character creation profile for him.

NAME: Blackout. (That’s the designation he selected for use in the human languages, anyway. In Cybertronian, it’s slightly more complicated, and means something along the lines of Bringer of Electric Night.)

BIOGRAPHY: Blackout was sparked on Cybertron a really long time ago--we’re talking in the millions of years here, folks. His initial function was electrical; he worked with power and power flow, his primary interest in developing more efficient power grids for implementation in his fellow Cybertronians. As he fell in with Megatron, his interest shifted to electric weaponry and electronic sabotage. He was the first Decepticon in that he was the first to submit to having Decepticon programming implemented into his processor core. He was always high in the army’s ranks, acting as Megatron’s third-in-command and personal bodyguard, as well as, occasionally, his hitman. When Megatron left Cybertron in pursuit of the AllSpark, Blackout joined Starscream and a select crew on the Nemesis in searching for the artifact and their leader alike.

AGE: Old. The war’s been going on for four million years. He was…not old, by their standards, when it started, but he had been alive for a while. So something in the vicinity of ten, twelve million years, maybe.

HEIGHT: 33 feet, in his bipedal form. (Something like 6', human.)

WEIGHT: ...Heavy.

BODY TYPE: Top-heavy. He’s very bulky through the shoulders and torso in bipedal mode, with most of his mass concentrated up there. His legs are downright spindly in comparison, really. (This carries over when he’s human, too--he’s got big, broad shoulders.)

FACE TYPE: He doesn’t have a mouth! And he’s got a spiky helm. And, uh. Yeah. (This does not carry over when he’s human. He’s definitely got a mouth then.)

COMPLEXION: Gunmetal gray and black, largely. (He a white boy.)

EYES: Red, if you can get close enough to see ‘em. Glowing, malevolent red. (Again, this carries over—his irises are technicnally brown, but flash red most of the time.)

HAIR: No hair! (Black. Wavy, slightly shorter than shoulder length. In his eyes a lot.)

CLOTHING STYLE: No clothes! (Pretty much whatever Eros chooses to put him in. Generally means blue jeans and a T-shirt. And no underwear. Ever.)

SPEAKING STYLE: Very succinct, relatively formal. Has a tendency to eliminate unnecessary things like pronouns from his speech, and doesn’t use a lot of slang. He also uses big words a lot. Occasionally, he gets sarcastic, though it can be difficult to tell when he’s being serious and when he’s attempting to exercise what little sense of humor he has.

GENERAL DEMEANOR: "Uptight" is a pretty good descriptor for Blackout—he takes everything seriously. He’s aggressive, especially about defending Megatron and the Decepticon cause, and pretty condescending most of the time. He has no sense of humor! ...Except for when he does.

CAREER: Follows Megatron’s orders. And Eros’.

PREJUDICES: He’s basically a xenophobe, though it’s less that he’s afraid of organics and more that he hates them. Of course, he doesn’t really have a choice. As far as he’s concerned, they are inferior and there is nothing more to it. The same sentiment tends to extend to Autobots, for siding with organics, but it’s less outright hate and something closer to pity.

BEST QUALITIES: He’s loyal to those he pledges himself to. He’s obedient, following his orders unquestioningly even if he doesn’t entirely agree with them. He’s incredibly powerful, and though he’s no medic or mechanic, he’s proficient at repairs, both on himself and others.

WORST QUALITIES: He’s a Decepticon--he’s stubborn, malevolent, supercilious, and, um. Evil? On top of that, he’s something of a hypocrite, making essentially arbitrary exceptions to his "all organics suck and I hate them" policy.

WEAKNESSES: His pride and stubbornness are two of his biggest weaknesses. He refuses to admit defeat even when he’s obviously been beaten, and will never believe that organics might even possibly be equal to Cybertronians. Even the ones he tolerates/likes he still considers inferior to him.

HOBBIES: ...He has a war to win. He has no time for "hobbies". Except that the amount of time he puts into maintaining and upgrading Scorponok—when he can—probably qualifies that as a hobby. Also, fucking Eros.

TALENTS: He’s pretty good at designing integrated weaponry, especially if it’s electromagnetic in nature. Though not so talented in the field as Frenzy, he’s a competent hacker.
